Frequently Asked Questions about Log Book servicing

To help you understand Log Book servicing and learn more about Memmott's Automotive in Windsor, please read the questions and answers below:

What is a Log Book Service?

A logbook service includes a thorough check of your vehicle to manufacturer standards, which will include inspecting of both the inside and outside of your car. At Memmott's Automotive these services will also include the changing of oil and filters and anything else carried out in a standard service or scheduled by the manufacture for a determined age or mileage.

Why do I need a log book service?

It is essential that you complete logbook servicing regularly and on time to ensure good working order and maintenance of your vehicle. It is important that you are not significantly late in servicing your vehicle as you will be a risk of voiding manufacture warranty if something was to go wrong with your car.

What happens if I miss a Service?

If a service is missed completely it can be extremely detrimental to the longevity and function of the vehicle. For example, engine oils slowly degrade over time and with use, if it is left unchanged this may cause engine failure. It may also void manufacture warranty if vehicle failure were to happen.

Do you have Loan cars and how much do they cost?

Unfortunately we do not have loan cars for hire. We are, however, located five minutes from the Windsor train station.

Will I lose my New Car Warranty if I don't go back to the dealer?

You will NOT lose your new car warranty if you chose not to take you car back to the dealer. It is a common misconception that new car warranty is voided if work is not carried out at the dealership. Here at Memmott's Automotive, we are 'dealer approved' technicians and we use manufacturer approved lubricants and parts. Memmott's Automotive is fully qualified to service all new vehicles. We have more information on this for you in our article. Please click here.

I have lost my Log Book, do I need it?

If you have lost your logbook a replacement can be ordered either directly from the dealer or from Repco. If you are concerned about service history of your vehicle it would be good practice to try and gather all past invoices pertaining to work carried out on your vehicle.

Do you provide Digital reports for the work you have done? or a digital report of what's wrong with my car?

All reports, diagnosis, and work carried out on your vehicle or any faults found with your vehicle will be digitally recorded and given to the customer.
